Though a few incremental updates have been made to the 2020 Mazda CX-5, the engaging SUV carries over almost unchanged from the previous model year. This means it still offers a surprising amount of fun from behind the wheel, especially compared to other affordable crossovers. It also delivers five-passenger accommodations mixed with high end exterior styling that is a cut above the rest of the pack.

The CX-5 features either a 2.5-liter, 187 hp four-cylinder engine, or a 250 hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, and although all-wheel drive is optional for the base engine model it is included with all turbo editions of the crossover. Maximum towing capacity for the Mazda is listed at 3,500 pounds.
